Anton Pieck is the most famous Dutch illustrator from the twentieth century. The past, especially the 19th century, inspired Anton Pieck. He developed his own style early on. Romantic irony and humorous scenes seemed tailor-made for Pieck. He had an inexhaustible source of ideas and had an eye for detail and nuances. His etchings, engravings, drypoints, woodcuts and lithographsattracted the attention of art experts and colleagues.

His romantic and nostalgic atmosphere is very popular with an audience of millions in The Netherlands as well as abroad. His famous calendars, diaries and christmas cards are still published every year. Piecks Old Dutch scenes and winter drawings are of course extremely suitable for the souvenir market.
